History of the Nissan Logo
The original Nissan logo entered into the US in the 1980’s. The logo carried text-based designed which had been used for decades
From there the design made was close to the design we see today. The design was a red circle with a blue rectangle in the center with the name written in white. The red circle represents a red sun associated with Japan. The land of the rising sun. The blue is said to represent the sky.
However, in the early 1990’s the colorful logo was replaced with a chrome outline of the shapes. The silver represented modernism and change to sophistication. The latest update to the logo was made in 2012. It acquired gradient shades of silver, to represent the brands new identity of innovation that excites. The current logo mixes the history of the Nissan company with the original shape and look with a hint of modernization to it.
